Therapy Solutions

Fees

I have a standard fee for a 55 minute session.  Longer sessions are also available at a pro-rated fee.  I also devote a portion of my available time to lower-cost therapy based upon your ability to pay.  It is my goal to work with each of my clients personally so that therapy can be affordable for them.

Payment is due at the time of service. I accept cash, personal checks or Visa/MasterCard. I will provide you with a receipt, known as a “superbill” which is useful for insurance reimbursement or tax purposes.

Insurance

I am an “out of network provider” for most PPO, POS Health Care, and HMO Plus Plans.  When using a typical PPO, the subscriber (patient) is responsible for paying for a portion of the fee (known as co-insurance) and sometimes meeting a deductible.

Insurance benefits can be confusing, but I am pleased to discuss your personal insurance situation over the phone and (with your permission) contact your insurance company on your behalf to determine the benefits/options that are available to you.  I will do my best to support your efforts to use your health insurance to pay for your therapy.

Cost of Treatment

With or without insurance reimbursement, therapy can appear expensive. When looking at the cost, please consider these three things:

1. The therapeutic interventions that I offer are all short-term by design. Of course there are no guarantees with regard to the length of treatment, but I take my ethical responsibility to provide efficient treatment very seriously. I believe that you deserve to feel relief as rapidly as possible, so that you can spend your time and money doing the things that you enjoy.

2. Time. My approach is experiential. That means that the majority of the change is expected to take place during the therapy sessions. For that reason, I offer you the opportunity to schedule longer sessions (1.5 hours or 2 hours or extended sessions) so that you will need fewer sessions overall (less time spent driving, less gas used and typically faster results).

3. Therapy is an investment in the quality of your life. It is impossible to put a price on your own personal happiness, satisfying relationships and good physical health. Undoubtedly you have invested money in other areas of your life, why not invest in you?
